A recipe from Rachel Adams

One of the many contributions Rachel Adams made to Eat Retreat was a healthy supply of Jeppson’s Malört – an unusual spirit from her home town of Chicago. In addition to inspiring Rachel’s cocktail, it also inspired James Collier to photograph a series of “Malörtraits” during Eat Retreat Finger Lakes.

Gastrique Bypass

  • 1 oz. jeppson’s Malört
  • 1 oz. craft gin
  • 1/2 oz. ginger simple syrup squeeze-o-lime
  • ice

shake –> shudder.

Once the kerosene burn and bitterness is out of the way, all you taste are the grassy, herbaceous, and grapefruit-y flavors that Malört has to offer. Rachel Adams
