After five years of bouncing Eat Retreat from coast to coast, we held the sixth annual Eat Retreat on scenic Lake Delevan in southern Wisconsin.
In 2015 we gathered in a region of southeast Pennsylvania with rich agricultural history, forward-thinking food systems and incredible local producers.
In May 2014, we gathered among redwood trees in our favorite food and wine region of California. Together we built wood-fired ovens, experimented with flavor extractions, made chocolate from cacao and learned the wondrous workings of honey bee hives.
In October 2013, Eat Retreaters gathered to discover the bounty of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Attendees led sessions in whole animal butchery, discussions on food media and technology, and the first Eat Retreat Food Swap.
In October 2012, Eat Retreat was held on a working farm in California where we pressed fresh olive oil, hacked pie baking and honed our palates with guided tastings.
In April 2011, we invited 35 leaders making waves in their local food communities to a ranch in Sonoma County for the inaugural Eat Retreat.
